I got an e-mail from Jack Richards the other day that really made my day and I wanted to share it with you. Jack had purchased a piece of auto mirror glass from us for his 2003 Avalanche and had this to say about his experience…
Hi, I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for helping me out last week. I went to my local Chevy dealer because I hit my mirror backing out of the garage and busted the glass. I asked them If I could get just the glass for the driver side of my 2003 Avalanche Z71. They replied sure, and I thought awesome! That will be a lot cheaper than buying the whole mirror. Then they hit me with a price of $510.31 for GM part number 88944391. After picking myself up from the floor, I asked if that was for the whole mirror head or just the glass. The counterman said that was just the price for the glass, and to add insult to injury they would have to order it and it would take 7-10 days to get. Needless to say I got the hell out of there and went online where I found you folks at MirrorGlassPlus.com, you had a piece of auto mirror glass  for the drivers side of my truck for $28.99 part number BUR-4017S. It went right over the broken glass and attached with the included adhesive tabs. It even allowed the turn signal in the mirror to continue to be used. I couldn’t be happier with the mirror, and best of all I had it within three days! Thanks again for everything, and I’ll be sure to reccomend you to everyone I know! Jack Richards

The thing is… Some folks can be intimidated by tackling a project like this themselves, they worry that it will be too difficult or time consuming. This couldn’t be further from the truth! Replacing a broken side mirror is actually quite fast and easy! Let’s have a look at what it takes. Below I have listed the steps along with a simple diagram for replacing a broken side mirror with one of our best selling replacement auto mirror glass options, the Burco Redi Cut®.

Step by step installation instructions for replacing a broken side mirror with a Burco Redi Cut® replacement auto mirror glass.

  1. Remove all existing glass from the mirror head’s plastic inner platform (backing plate).
  2. Clean backing plate with rubbing alcohol. Clean back of replacement mirror with Burco Window Glo® or other glass cleaner.
  3. Apply the Burco Redi Stick® adhesive patches to the replacement auto mirror glass back or to the backing plate itself.
  4. Align and press replacement auto mirror glass to the backing plate.
  5. Clean the installed Burco Redi Cuts® mirror with Burco Window Glo® or other urethane-safe glass cleaner.
